The mission of the Friends of Sunset Playground is to organize and mobilize community volunteers to redesign and rebuild the Sunset Recreation Center playground, thereby promoting safe, healthy and fun recreational opportunities for children of all abilities.

Description:
Our organization is composed of community members, neighborhoods political leaders and the Neighborhood Parks Council.

History:
Interested community members met at a local neighborhood meeting and joined forces to bring about a better Rec Center playground for the Sunset approximately 1 year ago. Articles were printed in the neighborhood papers, asking others to join the organization, and more information was provided at the Sunset Festival this past fall. We continue to have community meetings and steering committee meetings and will be hosting a clean-up day for the playground.
