Family & Children Services works to build strong, safe, and self-sufficient individuals, families, and communities in San Mateo and Santa Clara counties.

Description:
Family & Children Services serves approximately 8,000 children, teens, and adults annually in San Mateo and Santa Clara counties. Through a wide range of health and human services, the agency increases the strength, safety, and self-sufficiency of individuals, families, and communities. Services include mental health counseling, family violence prevention, intervention and treatment, substance abuse treatment, mental health care and abuse prevention services for individuals who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing, independent living skills training for youth exiting foster care, and family loans and support services.

History:
Family & Children Services has served the local community for close to 60 years. The agency will celebrate its 60th anniversary in 2008. Over the years, the agency has expanded services to meet the changing needs of individuals and families, and increased its partnerships and collaborations to expand resources for the community.
