We are a non-profit organization of veterans, trauma therapists and interfaith leaders committed to easing the wounds of war. We offer a range of free services for Iraq and Afghanistan service members and their families to help them cope with the stresses of pre-deployment, deployment and returning home.
Description:
You can help our Iraq and Afghanistan veterans by assisting us at workshops and one-day programs which are designed to ease their feelings of isolation, loss and powerlessness. We need volunteers to do fundraising, grantwriting, assist at workshops, create and maintain resources for vets. Please join us!!
History:
In early 2006, The Coming Home Project was started in response to meet the challenges faced by Iraq and Afghanistan veterans and their families. We have created a safe, welcoming community of compassion and understanding that helps them reconnect mind, body, heart, spirit. We help them find new ways of coping with stress and reducing anxiety, we listen to their stories, and we help them ease the wounds of war.
