Our Mission: Destiny Organic Center (DOC) will provide a community that supports health-conscious lifestyles for low-income individuals in the Bay area. DOC’s primary goals are to support physical health and self-awareness through workshops, cooking courses, natural health alternatives and an organic food bank.
DOC’s purpose is rooted in community involvement; volunteers and donors will play a crucial role in its growth and success. The organization will be a safe space for all who are involved to learn and make a difference in their own lives, as well as the lives of others.
Description:
Get Healthy Program (Nutrition Services)
We believe that all individuals have a legacy of worth, dignity and are entitled to reach their full potential to become “healthy,” live in a healthy environment by providing: Nutrition classes, Cooking classes, Organic lifestyle & Organic food and Community gardening. We want to provide an opportunity for individuals to cultivate their potential, improve their lives, and experience success in a more positive and healthy way.
Self Improvement Program (Recreation Services)
We promote social change by shaping a recreation like setting in which everyone thrives to change their unattractive habits to a more positive self image. By preparing individuals for the realities of today's health problems and addressing the needs of our unhealthy communities in the bay area through: Yoga, Pilates, Dance, kickboxing, self-defenses classes, Aerobics, Capoeira, Strength classes, resources and services.
Wholistic Health (Alternative Health Services)
We believe nature can heal the body and the soul at the same time while curing the whole body, by providing wholistic natural health we can cure the real problem rather then postponing it. People are looking for permanent cures for temporary problems not temporary cures for permanent problems and with wholistic health we will provide the information and the ingredients for healing.
Destiny Organic Center will create a safe space where information, resources and services will be like having them at home. DOC believed everyone shares the responsibility of creating an empowered and productive healthier safe environment for self improvement to all individuals in the communities. In this unique community base organic health center: individuals and organizations commit to self-awareness, self-esteem building, life-long learning opportunities and creating healthy low-income communities successfully.
