City Youth Now works behind the scenes to provide funds and services for youth under the jurisdiction of San Francisco’s juvenile court – including youth in the foster care and/or juvenile probation systems, to promote dignity, self-worth and responsible growth.

History:
Founded in 1950 as the Volunteer Auxiliary of the Youth Guidance Center, City Youth Now's mission has remained constant nearly six years—to provide for San Francisco’s dependent and delinquent youth when no one else can. We have diligently worked behind the to meet the growing needs of San Francisco’s neediest children. Unfortunately, the realities that these youth face seem to get more complicated with each passing decade. One in 50 of San Francisco’s children has been subjected to abuse and neglect and has been placed under the jurisdiction of the Juvenile Dependency Court. Unfortunately, public funds can provide only the bare necessities for these youth. We try to fill in the gaps when the public systems fall short.
