Inspired by fellowship discovered in the creation of choral music, the members of the Oakland East Bay Gay Men's Chorus (OEBGMC) engage and entertain the community.

Description:
OEBGMC is a significant performing arts organization in the East Bay area. We currently have approximately 35 members, and our goal is to double that number by the end of 2009. We provide high-quality choral music that combines entertainment with thought-provoking questions of diversity and justice. We devote many hours to outreach, performing at community and charitable events throughout the Bay Area.
We are also making a fundraising effort for OEBGMC’s participation at the 2008 GALA Festival in Miami, Florida. GALA (Gay and Lesbian Association of Choruses) is the world’s only association committed to serving the LGBT choral movement. The GALA Festival occurs every four years and brings GALA choruses from throughout the world together for a week of inspired music.

History:
Founded in 1998, The Oakland-East Bay Gay Men’s Chorus is a select group of singing men who share a passion for the rich tradition of male choral singing.
We usually present three concerts a year. Our signature concert is the Annual Oakland Pride Invitational. Each fall we introduce area choruses to our community and enjoy the variety of musical talent.
The December holiday concert extends a warm inclusive welcome to everyone in our community. With sacred and secular music we prepare ourselves and the audience for a happy holiday season.
Spring concerts focus on more challenging artful musical works.
All these regular concerts are interspersed with community events, such as singing for local schools, churches, senior groups, LGBT organizations, and conferences.
