The mission of the Leakey Foundation is to increase scientific knowledge, education, and public understanding of human origins, evolution, behavior, and survival.
Description:
We are a non profit organization located in the beautiful Presidio of San Francisco, CA. We have a small staff that consists of two development personnel, 2 grant personnel, a financial administrator, and a communications person. We are looking for volunteers to assist with a number of projects including: administrative assistance; archival organization; program/event planning; and website assistance. A number of these projects are immediate. The hours are flexible Monday-Friday, 9am to 5pm. We are a small, friendly, fun staff - would you like to join our team?
History:
We we established in 1968 to further the vision of Louis S.B. Leakey and his dream of furthering our understanding of our human past by studying human origins. We are a granting institution and we are currently the number one private funder of human evolution science.
