The Global Lives Project is an international collaboration of filmmakers, designers, architects, activists and institutions from around the globe. Our goal is record 24 hours in the lives of ten people, who roughly represent the diversity of our planet's population. These ten lives will come together in an innovative video installation and form the basis of a collaborative online video encyclopedia of human life experiences.

Description:
Global Lives videotaped its pilot shoot in San Francisco, USA. The first participant, James Bullock, a 57 year-old cable car driver in San Francisco, was taped on November 17, 2004. The second shot took place May 26th, 2006 in Sao Paulo, Brazil and featured Israel Feliciano, a hip hop artist and singer from the city's periphery. Other shoots have also occured in Malawi, Japan, and Indonesia.

History:
The Global Lives Project is an international collaboration of filmmakers, designers, architects, activists and institutions from around the globe. The founding idea was conceived on an International Honors Program trip in 2001-2002 by David Harris. Since then, the project has been underway, with the work of volunteers, and we recently incorporated as a non-profit, and are looking to expand our BOD.
