The OARC's mission is to revitalize the Ocean Avenue commercial corridor by increasing cleanliness, addressing safety concerns, working with property owners to fill vacancies, providing support to existing merchants, promoting the shopping district, attracting resources for physical improvements, building community pride through organizing special events such as the OMI (Oceanview/Merced/Ingleside) Festival and holiday decorations, and coordinating the work of community groups.
Description:
The OARC is a diverse collaboration of neighborhood residents, merchants, property owners, community organizations and other stakeholders that are all committed to provide vision, oversight, and coordination to seeing that Ocean Avenue become an even more vibrant, clean, safe, and welcoming place. This program supported by the Mayor’s Office of Economic and Workforce Development through the Neighborhood Marketplace Initiative, the Local Initiatives Support Corporation, and local contributors.
