TransAccess

TransAccess is a nonprofit organization that has been serving the Bay Area since 1980. TransAccess provides persons with disabilities access to adaptive technology and career transition services so that one can achieve their desired education, employment, and quality of life.

Description:
The Assistive Technology Center provides comprehensive technology-based services to remove barriers to academic success and independence for persons with disabilities. The School-to-Career Services give high school and post secondary students with disabilities a competitive edge toward building successful careers by providing real-life experiences and mentoring opportunities.

History:
TransAccess, formerly called DPI, started out in 1980 as a training center to train persons with disabilities in computer programming. In 1996, the mission focus changed to work more in the area of education and Assistive Technology providing the social skills and tools need to compete in today's workforce. Currently we work closely with several major school districts in Santa Clara County on a contract basis, but students attending other schools can still request services.
