Child Quest International is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to the prevention and recovery of missing, abused, and exploited children. We also assist in the location and recovery of at-risk* adults in the San Francisco Bay Area.

*At-risk is defined as individuals with dementia, Alzheimer’s disease, the mentally challenged or ill, and those who are a danger to themselves or others.

We focus on two vital aspects of child safety – prevention and recovery. Child Quest believes education is an essential element in keeping our youth safe. Providing awareness and safety education to children, teens, pre-teens, and parents is the foundation for our goal to stop child victimization. Beyond that, we are here to assist law enforcement and searching families in location and recovery efforts in the horrific event that a child does go missing.

Description:
Child Quest case managers provide free assistance to families and law enforcement in the search and recovery of missing children. We also provide post reunification referrals and have a toll-free 24-hour hotline.

In our ongoing efforts to help keep kids safe and prevent them from going missing in the first place, Child Quest created the Our Kids Are Safe Kids prevention education platform. Program managers teach child personal empowerment and Internet safety using nationally recognized programs such as radKIDS, i-SAFE, NetSmartz, Web Wise Kids, and Milk Cartons: The Way Back Home. We have certified radKIDS and i-SAFE instructors on staff.

History:
Started by a group of volunteers in 1990, Child Quest has assisted in the recovery of over 3,000 individuals. We are a charter member of the Association of Missing & Exploited Children Organizations (AMECO) – an organization of member agencies in the United States and Canada who provide services to families with missing and exploited children. Child Quest has set a standard in promoting collaboration among AMECO members like the Polly Klaas Foundation, Laura Recovery Center, Nevada Child Seekers, Texas Center for the Missing, radKIDS, and Child Find Canada to name a few. We have also developed a strong relationship with the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC), and incorporate many of their materials and programs into our education curriculum – Our Kids Are Safe Kids.

Child Quest is committed to developing healthy leaders for tomorrow. Investing in our children creates long-term benefits for our communities and a more sustainable world. By working with families, educators, law enforcement, and community groups, it is our hope that one day there will no longer be a need for organizations like Child Quest.
