The Red Web Foundation, an organization of menstrual health advocates, empowers women and girls by providing educational resources in order to create positive menstrual and menopause experiences. We hold that in order for girls and women to make informed health choices, they first need to know the value of their cycle on physical, emotional, intuitive and spiritual levels
Description:
The Red Web Foundation has become a resource to the New York Times (April 20, 2007), San Francisco Chronicle (May 23, 2007) and other news media. RWF has a holistic focus that includes body, mind, emotion, and spiritual connections we have to one another, the planet and the entire web of life.
RWF goals:
• To provide a comprehensive online resource for public education stimulating and encouraging conscious awareness and understanding of the menstrual life cycle.
• To sponsor educational workshops to the general public
• To continue expanding our web of menstrual health advocates by
supporting an ever-growing collaboration of members who network and share ideas and resources.
History:
In the spring of 2003, women from The Menstrual Health Foundation and from The Menstrual Millennium organized a conference. Grounded in both the women’s health movement and women spirituality studies, the conference attracted women from diverse professions: artists, medical professionals, businesswomen, academics and alternative health educators. The conference provided a forum for women to collaborate as menstrual health advocates to share resources and support each other’s efforts.
Because of the overwhelmingly positive response to the Weaving the Red Web conference the Red Web Foundation was formed.
