4Cs (Child Care Coordinating Council of San Mateo County), founded in 1972, is a private, nonprofit agency. Our mission is to ensure quality care and education for the healthy development of all children in San Mateo County.

Description:
4Cs has four focus areas. The first one is Quality Child Care and Preschool. In this area, we work to increase the quality and expanding of the supply of child care and preschool programs and promote the professional development of the child care workforce. The second area is Family Support. This includes counseling for parents about child care and preschool options, free referrals to licensed child care, and assisting working families in paying for child care. The third area is Health and Child Development. This includes training for child care providers and parents in child development and health. The final area is Policy and Collaboration. This includes collection and analysis of data, leadership in initiatives to support families and child care and leveraging of resources.
