The San Francisco Senior Center is a non-profit, multi-purpose human services agency that assists seniors who are well, frail,economically and ethnically diverse to develop new skills through education and socialization.

Description:
The San Francisco Senior Center has two locations; one at the Historical Maritime Building and the other is located downtown. The San Francisco Senior Center is a center that provides many services and activities such as tax services, housing aid, photography and art classes, etc.

History:
The San Francisco Senior Center was founded in 1947. At this time, Laguna Honda Hospital was overly packed with seniors. The San Francisco Senior Center was made to combat older adult depression and to be a facility for seniors to gather and learn. It is the longest continuous running non-profit for seniors in America.
