Founded in 1933, the International Rescue Committee is a leading non-sectarian non-profit organization providing emergency relief, protection, rehabilitation assistance, resettlement services and advocacy for refugees and victims of oppression or violent conflict. Specifically, the IRC-San Jose helps new clients by providing resettlement services such as case work, employment and immigration services.

History:
At the request of the International Relief Association, headed by Albert Einstein, an American committee was formed to assist Germans suffering from the policies of the Hitler regime starting in 1933. Since then the IRC has expanded to assist refugees world wide.
