CCOF promotes and supports organic food and agriculture through a premier organic certification program, trade support, producer and consumer education and political advocacy.

Description:
The CCOF Trade Association actively works to expand the organic marketplace you depend on. We build consumer demand and public support for organic products through organic education, public relations and marketing assistance. We also engage in political advocacy to protect and encourage organic food and agriculture. Trade association members include all CCOF certified clients and other supporting individuals and businesses. Membership is organized into 11 regional chapters, one processor/handler chapter and one at-large chapter.
CCOF Certification Services, LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of the CCOF Trade Association, provides a wide array of cost-effective, organic certification programs. We certify farm and livestock operations, processors, retailers, private labelers, and restaurants-truly farm to fork certification. CCOF Certification Services is accredited by USDA National Organic Program. To ensure international trade access for our clients, we also maintain International Federation of Organic Agriculture Movements (IFOAM), ISO Guide 65 accreditation and are CAQ registered.

History:
CCOF was founded in 1973 as a mutual assistance and certification organization for organic farmers and was one the first organizations to perform organic certification in North America. Today, CCOF maintains one of the most consumer recognized and trusted seals in the organic marketplace. CCOF remains one of the oldest and largest organic certification and trade associations in North America, with more than 1,800 members throughout the farm and processing community.
