Last updated on June 4, 2008

The vision of Frandelja Enrichment Center is to build a foundation for children that promotes readiness for academic success in a place where children have an opportunity to develop.

Description:
Frandelja Enrichment Center is a full-day childcare program offering services to families with children in ages 6 weeks to 5 years old. Frandelja's comprehensive program is designed in partnership with parents and community whose intent is on meeting the individual developmental needs of all children that participate. The program format is based on primary care which gives our children the ability to interact in small group ratio infant, and toddler size.

History:
Frandelja was started by two sisters who saw the need to offer a comprehensive program in the Bayview/ Hunters Point community. The center was opened in 2000 to the support of then Mayor Willie Brown and many city agencies. Because of a commitment to children and families living in an at-risk community, Frandelja has been chosen by Mimi and Peter Haas Foundation as a model center in continuing to provide quality child care. Additionally, Frandelja was selected as one of the first programs in the San Francisco No Child Left Behind Preschool for All program.
