The mission of Culture Connections is to provide and implement innovative solutions to the imbalance of progress within San Francisco neighborhoods. We will work to inspire the sharing of resources for the goal of eliminating the challenges that hinder the potential and development of all our communities.
Description:
The purpose of this organization is to provide substantial quality of life benefit to San Francisco citizens who live and work in its most economically challenged neighborhoods. Culture Connections will work to promote cross culture neighborhood experience, education and awareness; as well as to enhance the sharing of resources across cultural and neighborhood lines. It will accomplish this through producing awareness events within the focus neighborhoods and forging partnerships with corporations and NPOs not currently servicing these areas. Culture Connections will secure funding through a combination of grant solicitation, donations and event proceeds.
History:
Our Founder and Executive Director, Quentin Fininen witnessed the effect of our society’s imbalanced equation of opportunity to ability. Growing up with a strong and supportive mother but limited resources, he struggled to reach his potential in our competitive culture. With this venture and the support of his team, sponsors and community partners, Quentin strives to correct the scales.
