One World Children's Fund (OWCF) supports community-based organizations around the world that serve vulnerable children and their caregivers. By supporting existing local grassroots organizations, OWCF is able to network funds and resources directly to those in need.

Description:
One World Children's Fund supports grassroots projects in Asia, Africa, Latin America and the United States. We build long-term relationships with our grantees and try to serve them beyond the monetary function of a grantmaker.

Currently, we are collaborating with over 22 projects around the world in Uganda, Timor Leste, Zimbabwe, India, among others.

One World Children's Fund operates using a unique model called the Champion Program. You can learn all about it at http://oneworldchildrensfund.org/model.html.

OWCF has a strong volunteer base and sense of community here in the United States. We are excited about developing more school to school programs, continuing to support more program here in the US and abroad, and doing our part to support communication and community in the world. People involved are of all ages, nationalities, and interests. We are a vibrant growing organization;it is a pleasure and honor to be part of OWCF.

History:
One World Children's Fund (OWCF) was founded in 2000 by Shanti Cliff, Michael Kilgroe and Patricia Burbank after they had contact with grassroots organizations in India doing amazing work on the ground who had no American presence. They decided to join together in a new non-profit that would support these organizations and others like them. They developed the Champion Model out of their own experience, which provides a structure for people living in the United States to support international projects without having to create their own 501c3. We now have two employees and served 28 projects this year.
