SFSC is an innovative multi-purpose agency where older adults, their families and caregivers receive assistance in developing new skills, gaining economic stability, and maintaining physical and emotional health. The SFSC is committed to providing a balance in services to the well and frail, minority and low income members of our community

Description:
Strength and wisdom in an active mind: we offer classes;including computers skills, languages, ceramics lab, painting studio, photography, mixed and folk choruses,
Staying active means staying healthy: daily hot meals, Always Active classes including strength and balance training, cardio classes, fitness lab, Tai Chi,Qigong folk, line and ballroom dance lessons,community garden,rowing on the bay and volunteer opportunities
Social Services: Literacy for older adults , indivudual counseling, info and referral services, health screening and transitional care from hospital to home...

History:
Founded in 1947, the SF Senior Center is the longest running non-profit senior center in the United States. We now serve over 3,000 seniors annually at two branches: on the Bay at Aquatic Park and in the Tenderloin at the Downtown Branch
