AIDS Walk San Francisco is a large, community-driven, grassroots fundraising event that benefits Bay Area HIV/AIDS organizations.

Description:
AIDS Walk San Francisco is California's largest AIDS fundraising event. On July 19, 2009 over 25,000 people of all ages and backgrounds will come together as a demonstration of unity that seeks to end the suffering caused by HIV/AIDS. Proceeds benefit the San Francisco AIDS Foundation and numerous HIV/AIDS organizations throughout the Bay Area. As a volunteer, you are a critical component to a successful AIDS Walk San Francisco 2009. From now until July 19th, the AIDS Walk office needs volunteer assistance with a variety of office projects and we are also looking for volunteers for the Day of the Walk. Hundreds of volunteers are need to make the event go well, so come and join us! This is a great opportunity for an individual to join a group of volunteers in a fun atmosphere or for a whole group to come and support this extraordinary event.

History:
Since 1987, AIDS Walk San Francisco has raised nearly $65 million for HIV programs and services in the Bay Area. For 21 years, the event has been a model of cost-effective fundraising and extraordinary community activism. In 2008 alone, 25,000 participants, many of whom were members of more than 800 corporate and community teams, raised a $4.5 million for the San Francisco AIDS Foundation and 42 Bay Area HIV/AIDS organizations.
