It is at the heart of Art of the Matter's mission to support experimental art forms and educational outreach. Our approach to art and education reflects our belief that art and everyday life are not in fact, separate events but that Art is the human attempt to create meaning and to introduce formal shapes and paths through the chaos of the life experience.  In pursuit of this mission, AOTM acts as the umbrella organization for Deborah Slater Dance Company, a professional multi-ethnic dance/theater company; The Company She Keeps, an amateur multi-ethnic community-based performing group; and Studio 210, a low-cost rehearsal and performance facility located in the Mission District and used by a variety of Bay Area artists and arts organizations.
