The BizWorld Foundation's mission is to challenge and engage children across the cultural and economic spectrum through experiential learning programs that teach the basics of business, entrepreneurship, and money management and promote teamwork and leadership in the classroom.
We create curriculum that inspire children to think big. The programs teach the basics of business, entrepreneurship and money management to third - eight grade students.

Description:
The BizWorld Foundation currently offers two programs that prepare students for the real world through integrated, standards-based curricula.
The BizWorld program, students uncover their entrepreneurial potential as they start and run their own simulated friendship bracelet companies. In the The BizWiz program, students play the roles of analysts, controllers and traders to learn the basics of saving and investing.

Entrepreneurail, business and financial acumen is crucial to education. As spending among our youth continues to increase, it is important for our students to be informed consumers and money managers. By teaching students entrepreneurship, business and smart money management, The BizWorld Foundation is empowering students to make informed financial decisions and develop a plan for the future.

The BizWorld Foundation programs take an hands-on approach to education, allowing students to learn key entrepreneurship, business and financial concepts by actually participating in the business and money management process. In doing so, students not only become invested in the materials but begin to understand the relevance of traditional school subjects as they see how they apply to the real world.

History:
In 1993, our founder, venture capitalist Tim Draper, was asked by his eight-year-old daughter to describe what he did at work every day. Excited by the opportunity to explain entrepreneurship and business to a third grader, he used his daughter’s enthusiasm for making friendship bracelets to create a simulation activity in which students learn to start and run their own business.

From initial funding to marketing campaigns and financial statements, the program allowed students to not only understand how business works, but enabled them to experience it first-hand. The need and demand for BizWorld’s hands-on, cross-curricular, project-based approach to learning quickly became apparent.

In 1997, The BizWorld Foundation was established to make the entrepreneurship program available to all educators and effectively involve the community in the education of youth.
