The mission of the Black Coalition on AIDS (BCA) is to stop the spread of HIV/AIDS and eliminate health disparities in the Black community. BCA strives to achieve its mission by providing health and wellness services including, but not limited to, housing, education, advocacy, health case management and other health-promoting activities.

Description:
BCA's programs and services include housing, HIV prevention and education, case management and Health Services, and Health Awareness and Prevention addressing a broader set of health disparities in the Black community. Volunteers make the difference in our ability to fulfill our mission. Whether its event support, office work, program assistance or leadership through advisory councils or board committees, BCA's volunteers are instrumental in the agency's success

History:
BCA was founded in 1986 by a group of community activists -- gay, straight, men, women --responding to the rise of HIV in San Francisco's Black community. This "coalition" built a multi-service organization dedicated to providing culturally competent care, building awareness, and promoting health and wellness.
