Our mission is to deliver innovative programs that equip the workforce with skills to succeed in a competitive job market.
Description:
CRDC achieves its mission by providing education, job training and essential services to empower the community: pre-employment training, vocational skills training, workplace literacy and employment services including career counseling, job search assistance, job placement and retention support.
History:
The agency was founded in Chinatown San Francisco in 1966 by a group of volunteers who developed language and soft skills training designed to assist immigrants assimilating into the United States workforce and culture. In 1967, CRDC incorporated job training into its curriculum and soon became known for its clerical, customer service, and health service training. In 1987, CRDC moved to its current location at 655 Geary Street in San Francisco and in 1989 opened a site near downtown Oakland to further expand its job training services. Over the past decades, CRDC has placed thousands of our trainees in jobs ranging from stockpersons, warehousemen, housekeepers, janitors, food servers, sales, front desk receptionists, seamstresses, and general helpers in San Francisco and the Bay Area.
