The Golden Gate National Parks Conservancy is a nonprofit membership organization created to: Preserve the Golden Gate National Parks, enhance the experiences of park visitors, and build a community dedicated to conserving the parks for the future.

Description:
Established in 1981, the Golden Gate National Parks Conservancy is the nonprofit partner that supports and assists the Golden Gate National Parks in research, interpretation, and conservation programs.

The Conservancy's work is undertaken with generous contributions from individual, corporate and foundation donors, as well as income earned from operating park bookstores and cafes, publishing educational materials, producing interpretive merchandise, and providing park tours. Since its inception in 1981, the Parks Conservancy has provided the Golden Gate National Parks with more than $100 million in support and is recognized as one of the largest and most effective park partners in the country.

Volunteer in the Golden Gate National Parks and help in our efforts to preserve and enhance these beautiful landscapes. It is through the help of volunteers, like you, that make it possible for us to restore sensitive natural habitat, maintain our trail systems, protect important historic and cultural resources, and educate and engage our local community. National Parks belong to all of us and through volunteering you will be making a vital contribution to the health of our local National Parks and our community.

The Golden Gate National Parks Volunteer Program is a cooperative park-wide effort of the Golden Gate National Parks Conservancy, the National Park Service, and the Presidio Trust.
