Hospice by the Bay

We have a vision that everyone can live the last part of life with quality and dignity, in their home of choice surrounded by those they love. We believe that this is a precious time that can inspire courage and peace, when families can grow closer and the value of each person can be treasured.

Description:
The transdisciplinary team of Hospice by the Bay cares for patients with terminal illness in Marin, San Francisco and Sonoma Counties. Our team utilizes medical professionals, social workers, home health aides, administrative staff and volunteers to provide efficient and compassionate end of life care. Patient Care volunteers assist patients and their families by sitting with the patient to provide respite for the caregiver, running errands, preparing meals, doing light housekeeping and other tasks that the patient may no longer be able to do. Complementary Care volunteers provide massage, music, reiki and animal assisted activities. There are also opportunities for Administrative volunteers.

History:
As the second oldest hospice in the U.S., Hospice By The Bay has, for more than thirty years, been honored to care for generations of Bay Area Families. Our goal has been to help them to face pain and fear at the end of life, to find comfort and serenity, and to plan for a different and altered life. We have seen the best of the human spirit shine through it all. And we have been a part of it.
