The Project involved out of the concern for children who must accompany their parents to the courtroom and are subject to its sometimes harsh environment.
Description:
The Northern CA Service League (NCSL) Children's Waiting Room is a free drop-in center for children whose parents have business before the courts. The objective of the Children's Waiting Rooms is to provide safe, secure, and positive child care services to children whose parents have business before the courts.
History:
The Children's Waiting Room at the Civil Courthouse is modeled after its sister waiting room at the Hall of Justice The Northern California Service League has been successfully operating this first Children's Waiting Room in San Francisco since 1991.
