We also provide transitional employment for veterans for which they receive a stipend. Our case managers work closely with veterans on these and other related issues.
The Receptionist/Secretary is responsible for data entry, answering telephones, copying, faxing, creating binders, maintaining the bulletin board, sending mailings, light typing, data entry, presenting mail to veterans, taking messages.
History:
In 1993 Compensated Work Therapy (CWT) started to provide veterans with a supportive structure to assist them in returning to work. At that time we had a sheltered workshop, which is now closed. At the same time Health Care for Homeless Veterans was established to assist veterans with their basic needs. Compensated Work Therapy provides veteran who have not worked in some time an opportunity to relearn how to work. Most of the transitional jobs available to veterans are at the SF Veteran Affairs Medical Center, some positions are available in the community. We also have a Supported Employment program for veterans with serious mental health problems.
