What We Do ELLIPSE services include: Case Program and Client Services Nutritional Programs- groceries and nutritional supplements provided weekly to clients Therapist Matching Program- Clients are paired with a licensed volunteer therapist for on-going professional counseling Referrals- Referrals to other San Mateo County Agencies that serve our HIV Community providing further medical, rental, emotional support, and financial assistance .. How We Work We are a non-profit, non-political and tax-exempt organization. We raise money by sponsoring local fund raising events, conducting direct mail solicitations and applying for foundation and corporate grants. While we are supported in part by government funding, we continue to rely on the the support of individuals, businesses, and organizations within the community. Volunteer staffing with minimum paid personnel enables us to channel 90% of your contributions directly to people living with HIV disease.
History:
ELLIPSE has been supporting the San Mateo County since 1984. Over the course of three decades we have experienced and lived the changes of HIV/AIDS in our community. ELLIPSE continues to mold our organization to better suit the needs of todays HIV/AIDS members. This is the reason we are changing our identity from ELLIPSE Peninsula HIV/AIDS Services to ELLIPSE HIV Support Services as our role has changed as HIV is no longer a death sentence. We can now live long and healthy lives, but we need the emotional, nutritional and spiritual help that ELLIPSE provides our clients.
