Project READ's intergenerational student-centered approach has resulted in a successful program serving the literacy needs of adults, youth and families in our community. Spirited volunteers selflessly dedicate their time to tutor individuals who are striving to improve their reading, writing and critical thinking skills.
The desire to help someone develop the gift of reading is all you need to become a tutor We'll supply the rest.
History:
Project READ is about people helping people. Redwood City's Project READ was established in 1987 as a free, vounteer-based literacy program. Since our inception, over 3,700 youth, adults and families have improved their reading and writing skills. We have accomplished this task by recruiting and training over 3,200 volunteers.
