WOMAN, Inc. is a feminist, anti-oppression organization dedicated to empowering survivors of domestic violence to rebuild a violence free life. Our ultimate goal is to abolish domestic violence by promoting a violence free society through advocacy, education, and public policy. As a non-residential domestic violence program in San Francisco, we offer domestic violence survivors a 24-hour multilingual crisis line and culturally sensitive support programs.

Description:
Training and Education
Our crisis line is primarily staffed with volunteers. To keep our line staffed with qualified advocates, we offer a 40-hour domestic violence training. We also provide training and education to community organizations and schools.

Latina Program
This program offers support specifically for the Latina community. Services include Spanish language support groups, advocacy and case management, 24 hour bilingual crisis line services, outreach/education, and legal/court translation services.

Support Groups
We offer a safe environment for women to share their fears, anger, concerns, and goals with others in similar situations. Current support groups include an open Spanish and an open English group.

Individual Therapy
We offer ongoing individual therapy for women who are healing from the effects of domestic violence. MFT Interns and Trainees are supervised by a licensed psychotherapist. Low cost weekly sessions are based on
a sliding scale.

Crisis Line
Women in crisis situations can connect with advocates who provide crisis intervention, supportive counseling, and emergency referrals 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

In-Office Advocacy
Women seeking information and support can obtain assistance during "walk-in" office hours from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm, Monday through Friday.

History:
WOMAN, Inc. was founded in 1978. We're a multi-cultural, non-profit agency dedicated to providing support and options for thousands of women and children in San Francisco and the Bay Area breaking free from the cycle of violence dominating their lives.
