New Creation Home Ministries (NCHM) is a Christian ministry located in East Palo Alto that provides housing and support services to teen mothers ages 13-22 and their children. New Creation Home Ministries offers programs to young mothers that encourage academic, vocational, spiritual ,parenting, life skill, and social development.

Description:
New Creation Home Ministries provides two residential programs where mothers can live either as pregnant or parenting teens. Each program requires that teen mothers attend school or job training courses full time. NCHM houses 6 mothers at one time, and residents stay an average of 9 months. Residents in both homes do not pay rent, but are expected to save 70% of any income they receive, to do daily and weekly chores and to attend required weekly classes.
NCHM also provides a weekly parenting/life skills classes open to teen mothers ages 13-22. Parenting class is held at New Creation Home on Tuesdays from 5:30-7:30. Parenting Classes meet weekly in continuous 10-week quarters at New Creation Home. Dinner and childcare are provided. Class teachers/speakers are recruited from the local community and from churches. Topics covered in parenting class range from the discipline and child development to health and nutrition, as well as general life skills, including financial management and conflict resolution skills.

History:
NCHM began in January, 1998 as a "Teen Mom Outreach" program under the auspices of Bayshore Christian Ministries, a non-profit Christian youth organization in East Palo Alto, California. NCHM was incorporated as a non-profit organization in November, 2001, and became organizationally separate from Bayshore by receiving its 501(c)(3) status in March, 2002.
