VegOil (unaltered vegetable oil ) is a fuel that belongs in the portfolio of alternative energy sources used in the US. The NVOB is dedicated to bringing together the voices calling for legalization and standardization of VegOil. Our mission is to educate the public about VegOil, promote and support the use and legalization of the fuel, and facilitate research and development of modification components and fuel standards.

Description:
The NVOB is an organizer of information as well as individuals. The challenges of changing our collective fuel consumption habits are complex and need better presentation. Many individuals are duplicating each others' efforts. We need not reinvent the wheel hundreds of times. We share our research with the public either on the web site, or in person at a variety of workshops, fairs, car shows, or expositions across the US. Volunteer participation can be as minimal as a single afternoon spent handing out NVOB swag at an event, to helping design a curriculum for a Speaker Workshop series. Volunteers are encouraged at all levels of commitment.

History:
In January of 2005 Cynthia Shelton (NVOB Founder) took a solo drive across the US in a newly modified 1973 Mercedes 220D to meet the VegOil industry players. On the way she found that the many talented VegOil entrepreneurs were working in relative isolation and that it was time for a coalition to unify the fledgling industry. In September 2006 the National VegOil Board launched the web site and in November 2006 became an incorporated non profit entity in CA. At the time of this writing the NVOB is still very much a start up with all of the exciting system building and initial networking to do.
