The mission of Old First Concerts is to present a diverse variety of serious chamber-music forms to the public at a modest cost and to help musicians advance professionally by offering them publicity, a place to perform ,and small stipends. Core constituencies for O1C's offerings include participating artists as well as a loyal and knowledgeable audience. Old First Concerts focuses its artist selection on emerging, developing, and mid-career artists; in programming, O1C gives artists great latitude in choosing repertoire, a choice that is not generally available to them elsewhere.

History:
Now in its 39th year, Old First Concerts is one of San Francisco's premier chamber-music presenters. In its home in Old First Presbyterian Church near the Civic Center, Old First Concerts presents approximately 65 concerts a year, providing its loyal patrons with a diverse variety of serious chamber-music forms (including classical, jazz, and world music). Old First Concerts presents its world-class chamber concerts to the public for modest cost; O1C also works to help musicians advance professionally by offering them publicity, a place to perform, and small honoraria.
