Our mission is to alleviate poverty related problems suffered by homeless individuals and low-income families by providing the necessary support services which include: emergency food bags, clean clothing, showers, counseling and referral services. The agency strives to apply a holistic approach of service delivery by attending to the mental, physical and spiritual needs of our population by raising consciousness to promote balance and encourage positive participation in mainstream society.

Mother Browns Dining Room provides daily hot breakfast and dinner to homeless individuals and families at Bayview Hope Multi-Service Resource Center located at 2111 Jennings Street, San Francisco, CA 94124
We have a food pantry and Clothing Bank that distributes bags of groceries and clean clothing to homeless individuals and low income families, we are located at 1065 Oakdale Ave, San Francisco, CA 94124.
Bayview Hunters Point Multi-Service
Center provides information and referrals, benefits advocacy, case management, life skills classes, assistance in accessing appropriate services, lockers, setting up community voicemail and reservations for beds through the Homeless Management Information System. As part of multi-services our clients can also access our overnight resource center that serves 50-60 individuals per night. The goal of the program is to provide a safe space out of the elements for individulas while they wait a shelter bed in a city funded shelters. Clients staying in the respite facility have access to, social activities, laundry facilities, showers, case managers, information and referral services, shelter bed reservations, food and lockers.
History:
The United Council of Human Services was founded in 1982 and received its 501(c)3 status in 1984. The organization started as a mobile outreach program serving hotmeals to homeless and at risk of becoming homeless individuals and families. The organization has grown to meet the needs of the homeless population in the Southeast Sector by developing and implementing programs and services that assists homeless individuals with their many problem.
