Last updated on February 26, 2009

The EQCA Institute informs Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender people and the public at large about issues impacting the LGBT community and our allies, trains them to respond and work proactively for LGBT equality, and connects communities working for justice and civil rights for all. Equality California Institute has several projects focused on organizing community forums and legislative briefings in multiple cities, creating and distributing educational materials and mobilizing activists.

Description:
EQCA Institute's Marriage Equality Project is a grassroots effort devoted to securing civil marriage access for same-sex couples. We are working to empower and support local activists - both gay and non-gay -in the fight for legal equality for same-sex couples and their children through media visibility and public education within local communities.

History:
Equality California Institute, founded in 1998, is the nation's fastest growing statewide LGBT civil rights organization in the nation and has chapters throughout the state and offices in Sacramento, Los Angeles and San Francisco.
