Our store is a re-sale shop (new and almost new items) located in San Carlos. There are no paid positions. We volunteer to raise money that is donated to the Family Service Agency. They in turn serve over 16,000 children, families and seniors every year.

Description:
Our agency is comprised of volunteers that commit to two - three hour shifts a month. A monthly calendar is posted and you pick the day and shift that best suits you. The volunteers either sign up to work out on the sales floor (there are always two people out on the floor) or help in the back room to price the donations that are received. Volunteers receive training and we welcome interested parties to come and observe first before making any commitment. We are also looking for "on call" volunteers. If you can not make a monthly commitment but can give us help on a occasion we would be interested in talking to you. We have four general meeting luncheons held at various local restaurants during the year. We usually have a guest speaker and it is one way we thank those who have donated there time. The store is open Tuesday through Fridays 10AM - 4PM and Saturday 11AM - 2PM.

History:
Our agency has been volunteering for over twenty-five years. The money collected goes to the Family Service Agency of San Mateo (www.familyserviceagency.org). They do work with children, seniors, victims of domestic violence and low income families. They also do individual and group counseling, provide a comfortable place for supervised family visitation and provide seniors with job training and placement services. These are just a few ways that our collections are used.
