Native Plant Nursery Workday at the MLK Shoreline with Save The Bay (Oakland) ![]()
Learn about your local plant community members like gumplant, jaumea and salt grass. With the help of volunteers like you, the Native Plant Nurseries allow us to grow native wetland plants onsite for our restoration projects. Fall is the busiest time in our nurseries as we are growing plants to be out-planted the upcoming winter! Activities include plant propagation and transplanting, seed collection and sowing, watering, and other maintenance associated with growing native wetland plants. In November and December we may be out-planting the seedlings in the field and may not be in the nursery. No experience necessary, all ages welcome. Gloves, tools and all instruction are provided. Each event is led by Save The Bay staff, who are certified in CPR and Wilderness First Aid and all site projects have been planned to insure safety. This opportunity is sponsored by: Save The Bay We need volunteers who are free at these times
