☼WHO: The Women’s Building (TWB) is a multi-ethnic, multi-cultural, multi-service center for women and girls in San Francisco’s Mission District, which welcomes people of all genders.

☼WHERE: Our Community Resource Room (CRR) provides assistance to hundreds of visitors each year who call or come to The Women's Building seeking information or a referral to address a need in their life. Our free bilingual (English/Spanish) services provide critical access to resources for employment, housing, health care, legal services and more. The CRR also offers free phone, internet, fax and printing services to all of our visitors.

☼WHAT: Volunteers serve as Community Resource Associates in the CRR which involves two key components:
(1) Community Resource Room Support: Staff the CRR and provide assistance with our free services (internet, phone, printing and fax). .Provide information and referrals to visitors, help research, categorize and file resource listings and conduct community outreach.
(2) Special Projects: As a community center, The Women's Building collaborates with many organizations for events, workshops and special services. Special projects can involve any of a broad range of topics of interest to the community. As a volunteer, you may participate in special projects through outreach, event support and documentation as appropriate.

Hours: Flexible hours, up to full time (total to be arranged on an individual basis). At least one four-hour shift in the CRR (9am-1pm or 1pm-5pm).
Qualifications: Strong communication and organizational skills. A desire to make a difference in the community.

☼WHY: You have a desire to help people and make a difference in your community.

Hours: Regular shift of at least 4 hours in the Resource Room between the hours of 9am and 6pm, M-F, schedule to be determined.

Spanish speaking volunteers needed!

Supervision: Training, supervision and support will be offered by the Community Services Manager.
