The Caritas Creek Environmental Education Program is an opportunity for people to leave their everyday surroundings and circumstances and give back to their communities. We put middle school students (5th through 8th grades) out into an intentional community, in order to advance their understandings and their relations to problems through experiential education. And you get to be a part of their experience as a cabin supervisor. The volunteer plays two important roles in their position at Caritas Creek: Cabin Leader and Teacher Assistant. -- As a teacher assistant, you will work in tandem with a Teacher Naturalist in the implementation of a holistic Environmental Education curriculum infused with social responsibility teachings. -- As a cabin leader, you will work alongside the Heroes staff (full-time cabin leaders) to keep middle school students engaged and safe in a rustic setting. Caritas Creek believes in a young person's potential to create positive change in our ever-developing world. If you think this is something for you and would like to find out more about our program, contact us!
