TransAccess, a nonprofit agency, is seeking volunteers to serve as mentors to persons with disabilities 16-years of age or older. The mentoring project is designed to serve as a major component to increase the potential and competence of persons with disabilities seeking competitive employment. The majority of mentoring activities take place in Santa Clara County. Mentors must complete an application, submit to screening, reference checks, interview, and DOJ/FBI fingerprinting. Mentor time commitments vary according to individual needs. Mentors will receive orientation training. Those individuals with a knowledge or awareness of persons with disabilities or experience in tutoring, mentoring or employment services are highly desired but not necessary.
