Team descriptions ============
- Sponsorships:
You'll be a part of a team that gets the dough from big and small businesses. This team talks to the silicon valley corporates for sponsoring this event
- Logistics:
Want some hands-on experience with "running" an event? This team is the backbone of walk and has veto powers on most decisions made before and on the day of the walk. You will get to interact with everyone - park and city officials, vendors, and the volunteers. You make it happen!
- Publicity:
We are always looking for the next bright idea to do publicity effectively. This team helps design/print the publicity material and then publicizes the event on wesbites, through email, flyer distribution, posters, even radio and TV.
- Pledges:
Pledges are another way for us to raise money for the cause. This is the team where you can show a lot of innovation. As a part of this team, you'll get to interact with other volunteers and runners(participants) who sign up to raise pledges from family and friends.
- Carnival:
The non-walk part of the walk, this is the fun zone focusing on after-walk activities. You'll think of games and activities to amuse, entertain, and keep the crowd around longer, help with setting up the decor and show people a good time!
- Webmaster:
Are you a web 2.0 junkie? This is something that would interest you. Boost the website with your creative web skills, periodic website updates through the event. You could operate from a remote site and still help for this cause.
