St. John’s Mission: St. John’s helps over 1,000 young people each year in San Francisco’s Mission District prepare for post secondary success by addressing critical educational gaps in the community. Program Description: St. John’s Tutoring Center Summer Program provides students grades 1 through 5 with enrichment in the arts, sciences, and culture through experiential learning. As a multicultural educational center, we embrace different cultures and follow a youth-development philosophy; viewing every individual youth as an asset, full of potential for positive growth. Summer interns will assist teachers and work closely with a class of 20 children throughout the five week program. Interns not only guide children as they explore new resources and educational opportunities, they also serve as mentors and positive role models for our students.
Position Description: We have 6 unpaid internship positions, grouped by grade level, available for the 2008 Summer Session.
