Monday, December 15 10:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. Cost: free to members, non-members join for $25 In partnership with Don Edwards National Wildlife Refuge Winter is planting season at Save The Bay! Celebrate the upcoming Winter Solstice by canoeing out to Middle Bair Island, a site that is normally off limits to the public. Once on the island, volunteers will help plant native seedlings like marsh gumplant, alkali heath and sea lavender. Help us take advantage of the wet season and in doing so restore critical wetland habitat for Bay wildlife. Don't forget to bring your own lunch to enjoy out on the water! Minimum age is 10 for canoe paddles; please call for exceptions. Children under 12 should be accompanied by an adult. All boating equipment and instruction is provided. Each event is led by Save The Bay staff trained in CPR and Wilderness First Aid and all sites have been scouted for a safe journey.
