Volunteer Opportunity Details:
The Haas-Lilienthal House, SF's only Victorian house museum, is looking for enthusiastic individuals to lead 3rd graders who are visiting on field trips. Our "Heritage Hikes" program teaches kids about local architecture and history, in conjunction with what they are learning in school. They get a specially-tailored tour of the House, and learn what it was like to grow up here over 100 years ago. This extremely popular program has been going strong 20+ years, and we always need new guides to keep up with the demand. Classes visit on Tuesday and Wednesday mornings during the school year. We'll teach you everything you need to know, both form and content. You must be open to working with curious kids (they're particularly great at this age - interested, perceptive, enthusiastic) and able to give a 45 min to 1 hour tour. There are several flights of stairs. ![]() This opportunity is sponsored by: The Haas-Lilienthal House
