Volunteer Opportunity Details:
| Last updated on August 27, 2009 |
At Zen Hospice Project we are expanding our development/fundraising efforts and are seeking an enthusiastic, experienced, mindful volunteer to work a few hours per week with our Development Manager to help raise funds from major donors, foundations and corporations. Perfect for a development specialist who is looking to sharpen their skills, or who is retired and inspired, or who is taking time off from full time work. Requesting 8 hours per week (mainly in our office) and a 6 month commitment. You'll be working with our Development Manager to help create and activate our overall Development Action Plan for the year. We'll match you to the work you like best: researching new prospects, writing Letters of Interest, or crafting Grant Proposals. Since we are a small tight-knit team, you'll be included in a broad range of activities within your specific area, and within the overall organization. We are lucky enough to have several volunteers, and you may occasionally work with or alongside them. We can offer you the chance of strong professional reference, significant discounts on our educational workshops, focused skill development, a warm supportive environment, and a way to impact the way Americans approach death and dying. Please submit a cover letter and resume by email to the designated contact.

Overall Experience

Zen Hospice Project is about doing what you can, when you can.

Zen Hospice has created a soothing and uplifting atmosphere for everyone, clients, staff and volunteers alike. I felt that my work with them helped support and maintain that atmosphere. I left every volunteer shift feeling calmer than when I had started. posted by krt on May 2, 2007 |
