Brush Fire Painting Workshops is looking for volunteer teaching assistants for our programs with the amazing youth at a variety of elementary and High schools.
Be part of this dynamic arts education program and help us:

  • talk to youth about their artwork in a supportive, non-evaluative way
  • model appropriate participation in activities and assist in classroom management
  • set up materials and clean up room after class
We have a variety of opportunities. Please be available for all of the session at one or more of the following sites:

William De Avila K-1 School, 1351 Haight St
Tuesdays, 9/29 - 11/17 from 3:30 – 5:30 pm
Rosa Parks Elementary School, 1501 O'Farrell St.
Thursdays 10/1 – 10/22 from 2:30 – 4:30

Sloat Elementary School, 50 Darien Way
Thursdays, 10/29 – 12/17 from 4 – 6 (with 11/26 off for Thanksgiving)

Malcolm X Elementary School, 350 Harbor Road.
Mondays and Wednesdays, 9/28 – 5/10 from 4-6 (With all school breaks off)

We are looking for volunteers with the following attributes: reliability * patience * love of children * belief in the power of the arts to heal * willingness to be nonjudgmental when discussing children’s art * willingness to help with classroom management issues ***Sense of play a big plus!

A Wonderful Learning Experience
 Brush Fire is a WONDERFUL place to volunteer. I worked with kids who were in most need of art and healing. The kids were so warm and wonderful. They made me feel like a rock star! I only wish I could give them more.
