Are you or someone you love living with mental illness? Do you have a story of struggle, hope and triumph that you would like to share? If so, we invite you to become a Peer Educator for SOLVE. Sharing our Lives: Voices and Experiences (SOLVE), is an interactive anti-stigma campaign brought to you by the Mental Health Association of San Francisco. This peer education program is dedicated to eliminating the stigma associated with mental illness. Through community education and interaction, SOLVE addresses the mental health concerns we all experience but don’t talk about. SOLVE is looking to fill the speakers bureau with enthusiastic, friendly, outgoing and motivating Peer Educators. Peer Educators are asked to: • Participate in two three-hour training sessions at MHA-SF offices • Lead monthly community presentations upon completion of their training • Commit to a minimum of eight months of service with SOLVE Benefits of Being a Peer Educators: • $50 stipend for every community presentation that s/he leads and a $240 stipend upon completion of 8 month commitment. • Access to an extensive network of peer support • High-quality professional communications trainings. Visit us at www.mha-sf.org/programs/SOLVE.cfm to fill out a Peer Educator Application form. Together, we can eliminate the stigma of mental illness.
