 School House - You don't have to be a math whiz to help a student succeed. Join our dynamic after-school program working with middle-school students (6th-8th). Volunteers work with three dedicated staff members to provide homework assistance,recreational and social activities. Dinner is included ! Math whizzes will not be turned away. The School House works with youth (11-14)who are homeless or formerly homeless. Program runs Monday-Thursday, 4:45-6:00. Youth Leaders - You do need to be a bit of a math whiz to help our high school Youth Leaders. We have ten high-school students (9th-12th grade) in need of tutors skilled in higher math (geometry, algebra, calculus) and science (biology, chemistry) as well as other high-school subjects. Program runs Mon-Thurs, 4:45-6 p.m.
Must be 21 or older. Volunteers are required to attend an orientation and a six-hour training. You must complete an application process, provide references and be fingerprinted. One-year commitment is asked. This opportunity is sponsored by: A Home Away From Homelessness - San Francisco
